Position: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hybrid with weekly travel to office based in Reading.
Contract Type: OUTSIDE IR35 - LTD or CIS
Duration: 12 Months with the possibility of extension
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support one of clients on their Solar projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control and commercial reporting to ensure the projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide commercial management support across the project lifecycle.
* Manage cost forecasting, cash flow, and budget monitoring.
* Administer variations, claims, and change control procedures.
* Undertake valuations, measurements, and interim applications for payment.
* Produce accurate monthly cost reports and financial statements.
* Monitor contract compliance and ensure adherence to company procedures.
* Support dispute resolution and final account agreements.
* Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure commercial objectives are met.
Key Requirements
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (preferred).
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
* Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
* Excellent commercial and financial acumen.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
* Proficient in MS Excel and commercial management software.
* Available to start on a contract basis at short notice.
