The role
As a Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will perform all Control, Instrumentation and Electrical (CI&E) tasks in support of winning and delivering large scale process-engineering themed projects for our key customers, ensuring that the business maintains its position as the world leader in the delivery of marine cargo handling and fuel gas systems for the transportation/storage of liquefied gas.
Day to day, you be responsible for preparing Calculations, Data Sheets, Specifications, Schedules and Drawings, as required and coordinating with other business departments to achieve the required project objectives and deliverables schedules. Including, but not restricted to the following:
1. Motors, pressure/temperature/level/flow etc instrumentation, gauge boards, junction boxes, control panels, starter panels, rotating machinery packages, cables/glands.
2. Schedules - Instrument, cable, power/utilities,
3. Drawings - Instrument and control panels, power/control/instrumentation schematics and wiring diagrams, hazardous/safe area plans.
4. Control system architecture, communication links with third party equipment.
This role is full time 37hrs/week and will be based at our Rosyth site with hybrid arrangements: 2 days a week on the office, 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer
5. CI&E experience in either a project engineering or design engineering role.
6. Ability to work to deadlines whilst being reactive to customer/client requests for change.
7. Design engineering experience in the layout of E&I control panels.
8. Proven track record on PLC & HMI programming.
9. Demonstrate a good understanding of IEC ATEX, preferably CompEx trained.
10. Familiar with Siemens/Allen Bradley/GE IP (or equivalents) PLC hardware and software packages
Qualifications for the Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer
11. Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Preferably chartered or working towards accreditation.
12. Strong competency to be demonstrated across at least 2 of the 3 role technical disciplines; Control, Instrumentation and Electrical.
