Location
The postholder may be based at Abraham Moss Office in the North, Alexandra House in Central or West Didsbury Police Station on Elizabeth Slinger Road in the South. The South position requires Greater Manchester Police vetting.

Role Description
The Neighbourhood Compliance Team plays a key role within the Compliance, Enforcement and Community Safety Service, supporting the Manchester Strategy with a focus on the Clean & Green agenda. As a Grade 6 Level 1 Neighbourhood Compliance Officer, you will tackle environmental issues such as fly‑tipping, untidy private land, fly‑posting, and waste problems.
Responsibilities
* Handle a varied caseload of service requests, proactive and project work.
* Investigate environmental complaints and coordinate with partners and external agencies.
* Take enforcement action when necessary.
* Serve legal notices with high accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills
* Communication Skills – clearly and concisely communicate complex information to all levels, both face‑to‑face and written.
* Analytical Skills – absorb, understand and assimilate complex data, engage stakeholders to identify information needs.
* Planning and Organising – organise multiple tasks effectively, prioritise by complexity.
* Problem Solving & Decision‑making – make sound decisions, demonstrate judgement, explain reasoning.
* Creative Skills – think creatively, develop innovative solutions outside existing parameters.
* ICT Skills – computer literacy, use of web‑based systems, and ability to learn unfamiliar systems.
* Beneficial experience – previous relevant experience in compliance and enforcement (not essential).
