Salary: £45,000 - 65,000 per year Requirements: We want someone with experience supporting configuration management activities within engineering, IT, or technical programmes, including managing technical standards and policies. We need a strong understanding of configuration management principles, including configuration identification, control, status accounting, and audit. We need experience working with engineering teams to maintain accurate configuration records, baselines, and documentation within configuration management tools or databases. We need experience supporting change management processes and maintaining configuration traceability. We need strong attention to detail and organisational skills to manage complex configuration data sets. We want experience working within defence, government, or regulated engineering programmes, in controlled environments with defined governance and compliance processes. We need strong communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams. We want experience using configuration management tools or repositories such as CMDB platforms, SharePoint, or engineering lifecycle management tools. We want a degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. We need you to hold or be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC). Desirable: familiarity with defence configuration management standards and policies such as Def Stan 05-57, JSP 945, and CADMID or equivalent CM frameworks. Desirable: experience supporting configuration management for complex systems or system-of-systems environments. Desirable: familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments and configuration control of system models. Desirable: experience supporting configuration activities across software, hardware, and data artefacts. Desirable: understanding of engineering lifecycle processes including design, integration, testing, and deployment. Desirable: understanding of Release Management, processes, and governance. Desirable: membership of, or working toward, professional accreditation with a recognised engineering body. Responsibilities: We will have you support the implementation and maintenance of our programme Configuration Management (CM) processes across the full engineering lifecycle. We will have you maintain configuration control of programme artefacts including documentation, software, hardware, models, and data. We will have you manage configuration baselines, ensuring configuration items are accurately recorded and controlled. We will have you maintain and administer the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and associated configuration registers. We will have you ensure configuration items are uniquely identified, version controlled, and traceable throughout their lifecycle. We will have you support the configuration change management process, including raising, tracking, and implementing change requests. We will have you prepare and maintain configuration status accounting reports to support programme governance and decision-making. We will have you support configuration audits and reviews to verify compliance with our configuration management plans and policies. We will have you ensure configuration management activities align with programme standards, policies, and engineering governance processes. We will have you work with engineering, project management, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate configuration information is maintained. We will have you support the preparation and maintenance of the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and related procedures. We will have you maintain configuration records within programme tools and repositories, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. We will have you support system integration, testing, and deployment activities by ensuring correct configuration baselines are applied. We will have you provide configuration management guidance to project teams and ensure adherence to approved CM processes. We will have you support Release Management, working closely with the Release Practitioner. We will have you assist in the preparation of configuration documentation required for programme reviews and audits.
