The Role Leading and managing the Design & Technology department across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment Developing an ambitious, industry-relevant DT curriculum Overseeing workshop safety, compliance, and resource management Line managing and mentoring DT staff Monitoring pupil progress and implementing attainment strategies Managing departmental budgets and contributing to strategic planning Supporting whole-school improvement and leadership initiatives The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Design & Technology or related discipline Proven experience teaching DT at secondary level, including examination groups Previous leadership experience within a department A strong track record of raising standards and improving outcomes Excellent organisational and strategic leadership skills Strong knowledge of workshop health & safety compliance This Bristol secondary school is recognised for its strong academic standards, structured systems, and supportive leadership team.
