Data Engineer (Databricks essential)
£60,000–£75,000 + Benefits
Hybrid – 2 days a week in Edinburgh, London, or Manchester)
Gravitas is partnered with a leading organisation seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a strong consultancy background to deliver large-scale data engineering and cloud transformation projects across the UK
You will work across multiple projects, leveraging Databricks, Azure, and modern data engineering practices to develop secure, high-quality pipelines and support Lakehouse and warehouse environments.
This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and applying best practices in engineering, governance, and cloud technologies.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong hands-on Databricks experience (Essential for this role)
* Solid experience with Azure data services
* Strong programming skills in Python
* Strong programming skills in SQL
* Experience delivering solutions across:
* Data Governance, Data Migration, Data Modelling
* ETL/ELT
* Data Warehousing & Data Lakes
* Strong understanding of data engineering best practices, including:
* Git & version control, APIs
* Containers & microservices
* Orchestrating data pipelines
* Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps-oriented teams

* £60,000 to £75,000 base salary
