Frontier Resourcing is supporting the delivery of a number of high-profile defence and infrastructure programmes and is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller / Senior Project Controls Engineer to join a growing programme delivery team based around Derby.This role will support the delivery of cost control and performance management activities across complex infrastructure programmes, working closely with project delivery teams and wider project controls specialists.Hybrid working arrangements of 3 days client site. Due to the nature of the role, you must hold SC Clearance or above and be a sole UK national.Key Responsibilities Cost Control and Budget Management Implement and maintain cost control processes, systems and procedures to monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditure and forecastsTailor cost control approaches to meet programme requirements while aligning with industry best practicePromote the value and importance of cost control across project and programme teamsCost Structure and Budget Alignment Develop Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) aligned with project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)Ensure budgets are accurately time-phased and aligned with project delivery plansMap cost estimates to the appropriate work packages, planning packages and control accountsCost Reporting and Performance Analysis Produce regular cost and performance reports to support project governance and programme oversightAnalyse Earned Value Management (EVM) data including cost and schedule performance indicatorsSupport forecasting activities and provide insights into cost performance trendsFinancial Tracking and Accrual Management Lead the production of cost accruals to ensure accurate and timely recording of project costsEnsure that Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP) is reflected correctly in cost reporting systemsStakeholder Collaboration Work closely with project managers, commercial teams, finance teams and programme leadership to ensure alignment of cost and project informationProvide cost data and analysis to support decision making and programme performance managementProcess Improvement and Capability Development Support the development of cost reporting tools and tracking systemsProvide guidance, training and mentoring to junior team members and project stakeholders on cost control processes and best practice?Skills and Experience Essential Demonstrable experience in Cost Control within project or programme environmentsStrong understanding of cost forecasting and cost performance reporting techniquesExperience supporting cost control assurance activities within programme performance cyclesDetailed knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting and performance analysisAdvanced capability using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office toolsAbility to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teamsWillingness to travel to project sites across the region as requiredDesirable Experience using cost management or project controls software toolsUnderstanding of the wider Project Controls environment, including scheduling, risk management, reporting and change controlFamiliarity with NEC contracts within infrastructure or construction programmesTPBN1_UKTJ
