My client who are a leading multi-national Defence business are currently recruiting for either a Commercial Manager OR Senior Commercial Manager based in Buckinghamshire / Middlesex area to join on a permanent basis.The Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager role will be focused on account managing clients, encompassing contracting activities, creating business proposals, contributing to bids/tenders, deal making, and handling contract interpretation and challenges when issues arise. To provide continual guidance, assistance, and training to more junior colleagues. Support client negotiations to a successful conclusion, driving continued commercial success across the accounts.Role - Commercial Manager OR Senior Commercial ManagerLocation - Buckinghamshire / MiddlesexType - Permanent positionSalary - £60,000-£80,000 (DOE) + benefitsKey responsibilities for the Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager role and not limited to:Deal Making / New Business Deals.
Structures and negotiates new business deals (e.g. contributing to complex major bids, managing straightforward bids /tenders, providing detailed comments on customer terms and conditions, providing guidance and direction to the Sales community) to the best commercial advantage.Contract Management. Monitors and ensures the successful delivery of business in accordance with the contractual terms.
Activities include leading and facilitating in Contract Baseline Reviews (CBR) and provision of advice and guidance relating the delivery of business in accordance with its contractual terms.Contract Interpretation / Dispute Resolution. Guides the business in its understanding of what our contractual commitments are and if current activities comply. Advises approach and participates in discussions where customer believes that we are not fulfilling our obligations, participating in formal dispute resolution /negotiations and providing recommendations for the resolution of dispute situations.Policy.
Shares ways and approaches with the business to maintain compliance to commercial standards and policy.Provides guidance, assistance and training to more junior members of staff.Is responsible for meeting the business targets for their allocated accounts. Order intake, sales, debt management etc.Business Risk. Identification, management and mitigation.
Judge acceptability of overall risk level of deal and mitigating options, helping business devise sensible steps to address through appropriate contract terms or contract management, ensuring all known issues are discussed openly.Key skills and experience required for the Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager role and not limited to:Demonstrated expertise in commercial management, contract structures, negotiation processes, and a thorough understanding of Defence contracts.In-depth knowledge of commercial and contractual practices within the aerospace and defence sector, encompassing procurement procedures, bid management, pricing strategies, exchange rates and hedging, financial guarantees, banking instruments, export control regulations, and international shipping terms.Track record of driving commercial performanceExceptional customer liaison and relationship-building skills.Highly proficient in delivering clear, confident presentations and communicating effectively at all levels.Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.Eligibility to gain baseline security clearance - BPSS levelTo apply for this Contracts Manager / Senior Contracts Manager / Commercial Manager / Senior Contracts Manager / Commercial Contracts Manager / Senior Commercial Contracts Manager role, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.TPBN1_UKTJ
