Role Overview

As anAccounts Associate, you will support the delivery ofhighqualitycompliance and bookkeeping services for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role is ideal for aqualified orpartqualifiedAccountant (AAT/ACCA/ACA)who is eager to develop their technical skills across bookkeeping, VAT, CIS, management accounts, and yearend accounts preparation.You’llwork closely with senior team members, follow internal processes, and provide an excellent client experience through efficient communication and reliable support.


Key Responsibilities

* Complete bookkeeping tasks using cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.).
* Prepare andsubmitVAT returnsin line with MTD requirements.
* Prepare andsubmitCIS returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Maintainaccuratefinancial records and reconciliations (bank, control accounts, ledgers).


Accounts Preparation

* Assistwithyearend accounts preparationfor sole traders,partnershipsand limited companies.
* Support the production of monthly and quarterlymanagement accounts, including journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation).
* Prepare working papers and ensure files are complete,accurate, and compliant.


Client Support & Communication

* Respond to client queries efficiently,maintainingprofessional and friendly communication.
* Build strong relationships by providing clear explanations and proactive updates.
* Work collaboratively with client managers and other team members to deliver an outstanding service.


Internal Processes & Compliance

* Follow internal workflows, procedures, and deadlines.
* Support continuous improvement byidentifyingefficiencies or process enhancements.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, practice procedures, and HMRC requirements.
* Keep up to date with relevant tax and accounting changes.

Qualifications & Skills

* AAT qualified or part‑qualified, or ACCA/ACA part‑qualified/qualified.
* Experience in practice is beneficial but not essential for the right candidate.
* Competent using cloud‑based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and follow established processes.
