Fibre Network Designer
Location: Salford 3x Days A Week
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 + Discretionary Bonus + Private Medical
About the Role
We’re working with a growing UK fibre operator that’s investing heavily in network expansion and efficiency. They’re looking for an experienced Fibre Network Designer to take ownership of design delivery and technical standards across their fibre rollout.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working end-to-end, from network planning and design to build assurance and optimisation. You’ll play a key part in refining processes, improving data accuracy, and ensuring design consistency across a large-scale, high-performance network.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality FTTH/P network designs that meet project, cost, and compliance standards.
* Oversee all design documentation and ensure that “as-built” data is accurate and up to date.
* Partner with survey, build, and assurance teams to resolve design or delivery challenges.
* Define and maintain internal design methodologies and governance frameworks.
* Monitor performance metrics and contribute to ongoing process improvement.
Skills & Experience
* Proven background in UK fibre network design and planning, ideally with FTTH/P deployment.
* Strong knowledge of Openreach PIA and related industry standards.
* Proficient with design tools such as APX, DPComm, or equivalent systems.
* Experience improving design processes or implementing new ways of working.
* Confident communicator with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
