Sepura Ltd is a global leader in mission‑critical communication solutions. We are recruiting a Product Definition Engineer to join our expanding Product Definition team in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Sepura’s advanced radios are designed to help customers in emergency services, transport, mining and other sectors perform their jobs better. As a Product Definition Engineer you will help ensure our products behave exactly as customers require.
Role
In this graduate‑level role you will receive on‑the‑job training while contributing to the definition of advanced radio products. You will prepare feature specification documents that inform the design of software engineers and the planning of system testers. You will collaborate with product managers, senior development engineers, system testers, customer support engineers and other stakeholders to gather, refine and document product requirements.
The role demands strong analytical skills, excellent written communication, and a passion for developing quality product specifications. It offers an opportunity to train as a Product Owner.
Responsibilities
* Understand in depth feature, product and system requirements and clarify functionality and project scope.
* Document and maintain product and feature definitions.
* Maintain documentation and incorporate changes as requirements evolve.
Qualifications
* Relevant degree in engineering or related field.
* At least one degree module involving embedded software development, or an active hobby involving embedded software development.
* At least one degree module in digital communications (ideally wireless).
* Desire to define the behaviour of embedded software products such as advanced radios.
* Appreciation of mobile phone and related technologies such as USB, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, GPS.
Experience and Skills
* Experience working with Android‑based products.
* Experience with mobile phone technologies such as USB, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, GPS.
Desirable
* Hands‑on experience in defining product behaviour for mission‑critical communication devices.
Additional Requirements
SC clearance is required for this role.
