Wellbeing coach - young person’s idva

Kingsley
Wellbeing coach
£30,024 - £31,537 a year
Posted: 4 April
Offer description

Are you passionate about supporting young people affected by domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse (DVA/SVA)? We have an opportunity for a DVA/SVA specialist colleague to join our multi-disciplinary team of wellbeing coaches. Please find full details of how to apply via our website in the advert below. The deadline for application submissions is 23:59, Thursday, 30th April 2026. These roles are part of an innovative partnership led by Next Link to provide a holistic response to gender-based violence across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. You will be employed by 1625 as part of a team of Wellbeing Coaches, and will also work closely with Next Link colleagues, dividing your time between supporting young people in Next Link safe accommodation, and supporting young people in the community. Wellbeing coaches offer flexible, relationship-based support to young people to help them reboot their lives. They also coach and mentor colleagues, sharing their knowledge and skills and delivering training to our teams. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working at the intersection of homelessness, mental health, DVA/SVA, and experience of care. We aim to build a more diverse workforce that reflects the young people we support, including those from migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking communities. We therefore warmly encourage applications from individuals who are currently under-represented at 1625, including people from ethnic minority backgrounds, Muslim candidates, and anyone with relevant lived experience. This post is open to female applicants only as being female is deemed a genuine occupational requirement for this post, under schedule 9, paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. If you need an adjustment to be made to any part of the recruitment process, please let us know as soon as possible. Who are we? We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. At 1625 we are driven by Social Justice and Passion: we strive to do something that matters and take pride in seeing the results of our work in social outcomes and improving young people’s lives. How we work At 1625 our work is rooted in Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP). Our Psychologically Informed Framework shapes how we build relationships, use our spaces, and support young people. This means we prioritise safety, trust, collaboration, and understanding the impact of trauma in every interaction. You don’t need prior experience in PIE or TIP to apply - we’ll support you to learn and develop these approaches in the role. Our Competency Development Framework sits at the heart of how we work at 1625. It links our values with the behaviours we expect to see in everyday practice and supports colleagues to learn, reflect and develop. It also means our recruitment is grounded in behaviours, not just experience, so applications, interviews and job profiles all focus on how we work, not only what we do. What you will be doing: Travelling to where young people are, to provide holistic, tailored, 1:1 support for young people experiencing, or at risk of, DVA/SVA. Listening and responding to young people’s needs, facilitating groupwork and signposting to other relevant opportunities for recovery. Developing excellent relationships with stakeholders and confidently representing your young people in multi-agency work. Mentoring and coaching colleagues to upskill them in responding to DVA/SVA. You will be in the Transitions and Resilience team and your line manager will be our Transitions and Resilience Service Manager. Don’t currently hold the IDVA qualification? No problem. If you have the relevant skills and experience and you are interested in this role, but you are worried about the application process, please get in touch with us. We encourage you to have an informal chat with the recruiting manager to discuss how your personal or professional experience and skills could be transferred to this role. Details of how you can do that are further down in this advert. Contract details Hours per week: 33.75 (0.9 FTE) Contract type: Fixed term, Maternity cover Pay: £30,024 - £31,537 per annum (pro rata for part time) The location: We have offices in central Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We may be able to offer some flexibility around number of hours worked, within the total 0.9 FTE available. If you would like a different number of hours, or need a particular work pattern, please let us know this in your application. A few benefits at 1625ip In return for your dedication, we offer: A generous annual leave entitlement of 30 days per annum plus all Bank Holidays. Employee Health Cash Plan with HSF. For successful candidates with a criminal record, a risk assessment process will take place with the recruiting manager. We also pride ourselves on being an equitable opportunities employer for everyone regardless of age, disability, gender identity, race, religion and beliefs, sex and sexual orientation.
