Location: Huddersfield Region
Salary. Package: Up to £40,000 + Bonus
40-Hour / 4-Day Working Week
The Role
We are recruiting an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a well-established contemporary restaurant in the Halifax region.
This is a busy, fully fresh food operation with an excellent reputation. We are seeking a passionate culinary leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing both service and team performance. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining standards, driving creativity, and fostering a positive, professional kitchen culture.
This role would suit an experienced Head Chef or a strong Sous Chef ready to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and inspire the kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards
Oversee all food preparation and service to ensure quality, consistency, and presentation excellence
Develop seasonal menus and daily specials using fresh, high-quality ingredients
Maintain GP targets through effective stock control, ordering, and waste management
Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, HACCP, and health & safety regulations
Recruit, train, mentor, and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff
Create a positive, supportive, and professional team environment
Manage rotas in line with business needs and labour targets
Work closely with front-of-house management to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
Drive innovation while maintaining the restaurants reputation and standards
What Were Looking For
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality fresh food restaurant
Strong leadership and team development skills
Experience managing kitchen finances, stock control, and labour costs
Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
Passion for seasonal, fresh ingredients and modern cooking techniques
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Demonstrable longevity and commitment in previous roles
Level 2 Food Hygiene (minimum) Level 3 preferred
Pastry experience desirable but not essential
