About the role
As a Customer Delivery Installer Porter, you'll be the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. You'll maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations in our customers' homes. This non-driver role offers a great opportunity for career development in our Customer Delivery Hubs. You will complete a 13-week Porter training programme, after which you'll be qualified to install products including wet connections, TV, and Audio Installations. Upon completing the training, you'll be assessed to obtain your Installer Porter qualification.
Key Responsibilities
* Start your day at the delivery hub before heading out on route, representing the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
* Assist in loading your lorry with deliveries, working alongside the warehouse team.
* Show respect and courtesy for customers' homes and handle unexpected situations to find the best solutions.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use to customers.
* Stay updated on new products and technologies to perform your role effectively.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Physical ability to handle large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience with white goods installation, furniture assembly, or related skills.
