Duty Officer
Job description:
Newman University is looking to recruit a Duty Officer to supervise the Sports Centre facilities within the University and contribute to an exceptional customer experience. The successful candidate will lead a small team of student staff and will ensure that the sports facilities are hospitable, safe and efficiently run.
The post holder will be responsible for administrative duties including the booking and membership systems, along with the recording and security of the daily sales. It is expected that you will be competent in the creation of promotional material and management of the social media accounts in order to maintain a presence on campus and in the local community. The role will involve the preservation of a positive relationship with the University student groups, partnership clubs, facility users and the local community.
The successful applicant will possess an honours degree in a sport subject together with a Level 2 Fitness Instructor Qualification. You will also have experience of a supervisory role, working experience within a sports facility, the provision of services within sport and the coordination of events. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an organised approach to work, an understanding of sport in higher education and a passion for physical activity and fitness is also essential.
The role will require availability from 3pm to 10pm on all weekdays. A flexible working pattern will also be required as the post may require some weekend work.
