The Role…
You will ensure the content of Cosmopolitan, Prima, Red, Men’s Health, Women’s Health and Runner’s World is accurate, legal, of an excellent standard and adheres to each title’s tone and house style. Assist the Group Chief Sub Editor and Chief Sub Editor to ensure a coordinated workflow and production process of content for the six brands, from raw copy through to sending pages to press, and all other platforms, ensuring deadlines are me
Main Duties…
1. Deputising for the Group Chief Sub Editor/Chief Sub Editor in their absence.
2. Working with the Group Chief Sub Editor to manage workflow and successfully coordinate the production cycles of the six brands.
3. Policing copy deadlines in coordination with the Group Chief Sub Editor to ensure a consistent and orderly flow of copy and layouts.
4. Subbing content to a high standard, ensuring copy is accurate, fact-checked, and functions according to each brand’s house style.
5. Willing to give creative input and elevate pages through on-brand captions, headlines and rewriting of copy, particularly on international reuse content where references, jokes and tone may differ.
6. Checking the work of the Sub Editors to ensure it reaches the desired standards.
7. Liaising with the Women’s Lifestyle and Wellness art hubs about the flow of layouts.
8. Referring copy/layouts to the legal department where necessary.
9. Checking with writers/contributors/content editors where necessary.
10. Circulating page proofs throughout the brand editorial teams and taking in corrections as directed.
11. Liaising with the production department to manage the sending of pages to press.
12. Liaising with marketing, digital and subscriptions departments over relevant pages to ensure they meet requirements.
