The Spinney Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic practice nurse to join our friendly, hardworking Nursing Team.
Main duties of the job
The Spinney Surgery has approximately 11,000 patients from wide variety of backgrounds all with differing needs. Our practice nurses have a varied and interesting workload, dealing with patients face to face, via telephone or occasionally video consultation. We are keen to hear from those seeking both full and part-time hours for this role.

We are a large practice and part of the St Ives PCN. We are a supportive team which offers a happy and friendly environment to work in. Team work is at the heart of our surgery and as such new members of staff are given full training and mentoring.
Job responsibilities
Our Practice Nurses have a busy working day, with a wide variety of task to keep the day interesting:-
* Contraception and family planning
* Long term condition reviews
* Smears
* Injections/Vaccinations
* Dopplers
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered nurse with sufficient demonstrable experience post qualification.
* GCSE GRADE A- C in English and Maths.
Experience
* Experience working in a busy Primary Care Setting.
* Experience of chronic disease management within general practice.
* Ability to identify own learning needs and those of other members of the practice nurse team.
* Ability to crucially review and communicate clinical information to both patients and health care professionals.
* Knowledge of Patient Group Directives and associated policy.
* Sound knowledge and experience in using of clinical system eg System 1.
* Confident, positive attitude toward the responsibilities of the role.
* Methodical approach
* Able to take proactive approach towards health promotion in the practice to support patients in accordance with their individual needs and to promote good health to the wider practice population.
* Flexibility to provide cover for absences of other members of the practice nurse team and to attend training sessions outside normal working hours.
