This a 12 month fixed term 0.9 WTE consultant post, based in the within the Endocrinology & Diabetes department at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The post holder will be responsible for running Endocrinology Clinics at St Mary’s Hospitals as well as undertaking Acute and General Medicine ward rounds in the division of medicine.
The post holder will be appointed to transform the delivery of patient care by working with the wider Endocrinology team. As such, the post holder will be expected to have an interest in General Medicine and Endocrinology as well as specialist knowledge and prior expertise in diagnosis and management of Thyroid eye, antenatal and endocrinology disease.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will divide his/her time between clinical work, inpatient and outpatients. There are fixed weekly commitments which include clinics, MDTs and nurse supervision.
Post holder will be expected to see 10 patients per clinic (2 new, 8 follow-up) in the job planned outpatient clinics. For Acute inpatient DCC, post holder will be expected to review 15 inpatients during this activity.
This job plan also includes 1PA for Acute medicine. Which includes post take ward rounds and on calls commitments.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The job will involve clinical, administrative and non-clinical sessions. These will be done on site. Clinical sessions will involve:
ØA total of 10 PAs
ØClinical Activities: 8 PAs per week (including clinical activity, clinically related activity, predictable and unpredictable emergency work)
ØSupporting Professional Activities: 1 PAs per week (including audit, clinical governance, CPD, teaching, research, and CPD

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
2. Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
3. Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
