Job Details: Placement duration: September 2024 - August 2025 This role is for a fixed-term Placement position within the Technical Delivery Team at Cubic Transportation Systems, working with a Technical Delivery Manager within the team. The position will offer experience in the following areas, based on the of a Technical Delivery Lead. Responsible for coordinating technical delivery across one or more defined projects. Working closely with engineering teams, including hardware, software, and infrastructure, to ensure that the engineering group meets the milestones and objectives of the projects undertaken. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provide technical planning and coordination in the implementation of systems and integration projects. Working in collaboration with managers and their teams to ensure that the group is aligned to achieve the required milestones and objectives of the projects undertaken. Analyse and understand solution requirements, overall architecture and technical designs and processes to define and maintain clear and stable project scope. Participate in project plans to ensure technical and logical viability and maintain oversight throughout the project to ensure continued progress. Participate and take the lead role when required in formal meetings with customers and subcontractors Collaborate and share technical expertise within the department and other departments as required. Ensure that design, development and test software programs follow established quality standards and are in accordance with internal engineering procedures, including coding, unit testing and software configuration control. Liaise with and coordinate the work of subcontractors and suppliers where required Proactive participation in the overall technical solution by working with the Technical Design Authority (TDA) and technical teams Provide technical direction and project supervision to engineers, programmers and technicians assigned to projects. Assist Project Management to ensure projects are accomplished within budget, schedule and contract/specifications requirements. Plan and direct integration by project team members. Conduct project technical coordination and review meetings as appropriate. Progress the engineering aspects of the project plan, conveying status to Project Management. Ensure that installation and maintainability planning is coordinated with the overall system design. Assist in the resolution of post-delivery systems problems. Oversee the impact analysis on any requested changes prior to commitment. Establish costs, where appropriate, for Variations including labour, materials, software tools and third-party services Minimum Job Requirements: Skills, knowledge and experience: Essential: Being enrolled in a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, equivalent professional experience or a combination of both. Effective decision maker with the ability to consider the impact and take accountability for decisions made. Result orientated and capable of delegating responsibility Desirable: Relevant industry/product experience Experience in managing integration projects involving custom development of software and hardware components (both are highly desirable).
