Job Description Audit & Assurance Senior Salary: 23-50k per annum Location: Newcastle Overview We are supporting a well-established accountancy practice to hire an Audit & Assurance Senior. This is a client-facing role with responsibility for delivering high-quality audit work, supporting junior team members, and helping to keep engagements on track. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver audit assignments from planning through to completion, including fieldwork and file completion Prepare and review audit working papers and ensure compliance with relevant auditing standards Draft audit findings and support the preparation of management letters and reports Liaise directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and provide clear updates Support audit planning, including risk assessment, materiality, and audit programmes Supervise, coach, and review the work of trainees and junior colleagues Work closely with managers/partners to manage timelines, budgets, and quality Contribute to continuous improvement of audit processes and templates Support wider assurance work as required (for example, reviews and agreed-upon procedures) Skills and Experience Previous experience in external audit within an accountancy practice environment Working knowledge of UK auditing standards and audit methodology Strong file completion skills, with good attention to detail and clear documentation Comfortable communicating with clients and building trusted relationships Experience supervising or reviewing junior team members is beneficial Confident using audit software and Microsoft Excel Qualifications ACA / ACCA part-qualified or qualified (or equivalent) Personal Attributes Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities Calm under pressure with a practical, solutions-focused approach Strong teamwork and a positive, professional attitude What’s On Offer Competitive salary (dependent on experience) Hybrid/flexible working (where available) Study support (if applicable) Clear progression and ongoing professional development Supportive team culture and modern systems Working Pattern Full-time, Monday to Friday Confidentiality All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
