Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with OsecoElfab, a global manufacturer of customised rupture discs and explosion vents with their search for a Tooling & Machining Engineer.
Responsibilities
* Maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of production tooling through the use of manual lathes, mills, and cylindrical grinders to restore and maintain tooling components and cutting blades to operational standards.
* Maintenance and inspection of die sets, setup and upkeep of CNC systems, and ongoing management of jigs and fixture systems used across multiple production cells, with development for current and future products.
* Manual Machining and Tool Refurbishment: operate manual machine tools (lathe, vertical mill, cylindrical grinder) to refurbish and maintain tooling and blade components; evaluate tooling condition and perform dimensional restoration and rework; maintain records of refurbishment and wear assessments.
* Die Set Maintenance And Inspection: perform routine maintenance on die sets, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, reassembly; identify wear or misalignment and assist root cause analysis of die-related faults.
* CNC Machine Setup And Maintenance: set up and operate Hurco CNC lathe and bar feed systems; adjust tool offsets, feeds, and speeds to maintain quality and optimise cycle times; coordinate maintenance for reliability.
* Production CNC System Support: provide support for CNC production equipment with Fanuc controls; perform basic diagnostics, machine adjustments, and process checks; assist in minor program edits to optimise cycle times and reduce tool wear.
* Jigs And Fixture Systems: maintain, inspect, repair and overhaul jigs and fixtures across production cells; assess wear and alignment and perform repairs; collaborate with teams to improve fixture functionality and process stability.
* Technical Support: provide engineering support for mechanical and process issues and suggest improvements; manage setup and upkeep of onsite tool room area including housekeeping and stock management; contribute improvements to existing methods or new equipment/systems.
* General: maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment; ensure work meets defined quality standards and timelines; participate in special projects or cross-functional support as needed.
Qualifications
* Proficient in manual machining (lathe, mill, cylindrical grinding).
* Experience in die set maintenance and inspection in a manufacturing setting.
* Hands-on experience with Hurco CNC machines and bar feed equipment, including turret/carousel setup and bar feed system programming.
* Familiarity with Fanuc CNC controls and basic troubleshooting.
* Competent in maintenance and assessment of jigs and fixture systems.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and tolerance specifications.
* Good understanding of CNC programming and machine operation practices.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
* Technical certificate, apprenticeship, or associate degree in machining, toolmaking, or related field preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a tooling, machining, or maintenance role.
