We are looking for 3 enthusiastic and knowledgeable Building Safety Managers to join our team at Bristol City Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the council’s statutory duties and ensure the safety of occupants in high-rise multi-occupied residential buildings.
The Role:
As a Building Safety Manager, you will play an integral part in ensuring Bristol City Council remains compliant with building safety regulations. Working alongside the Senior Building Safety Manager you will complete the building safety cases and reports, ensure the Golden Thread of data for each high rise building, support resident engagement and creation of resident engagement strategies, collaborate with the Building Safety Regulator, and provide expert advice to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Take ownership, analyse, interpret, and write technical information in building safety cases and safety case reports.
* Undertake site visits, meeting council staff, meeting residents, and carrying out reviews of existing property related inspections and assessments.
* Submit notices and reports to the Building Safety Regulator.
* Assist with resident engagement plans for building safety.
* Maintain information management systems to facilitate safe management of the in scope buildings to aid the Golden Thread.
What We’re Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in all property compliance workstreams, ideally within social housing, and suitable qualifications. You’ll need strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and experience liaising with residents.
Essential Requirements:
* Technical qualification – NEBOSH, CIOB, IOSH.
* Experience within property compliance in a housing context.
* Knowledge of building safety and fire safety regulations.
* Strong communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
Desirable:
* Experience of undertaking a Building Safety Manager role previously.
* CIOB L6 Building Safety Management qualification
