Head of Finance for RHS Wisley Gardens

Job Description:
* Lead a team of 30 staff, including 9 direct reports.
* Collaborate with the Director of Finance to develop financial strategies supporting the Societys ambitions.
* Ensure effective financial policies, procedures, and controls across the charity and its subsidiaries.
* Work with senior managers to enhance financial awareness, set realistic targets, and support business objectives.
* Oversee financial accounting, management accounts, and statutory reporting aligned with current standards.
* Manage monthly, forecast, and budget reports with commentary for the entire group.
* Provide financial analysis to divisions to aid in achieving budget and strategic goals.
* Maintain strong financial controls, reconciliations, and asset management, including cash flow and investments.
* Develop tax-efficient planning strategies, ensuring HMRC compliance, including VAT and Gift Aid.
* Support contract negotiations, minimizing financial, commercial, and legal risks.
* Oversee payroll accuracy and compliance with HMRC PAYE regulations.
* Manage insurance negotiations and renewals.
* Ensure health, safety, and welfare standards for staff and volunteers, with appropriate training and risk assessments.
Candidate Profile:
* CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent qualification + Degree or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of financial legislation relevant to charities/not-for-profit sectors.
* Experience with NAV18 and/or MS Dynamics (NAV).
* Strong understanding of tax, VAT, Gift Aid, pensions, and statutory accounts for charities.
* Extensive experience managing medium to large teams and business partnering.
* Proven leadership and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
* Experience in complex organizational environments.
