Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician Location: Wakefield Salary: £42,723.16 On-Call Allowance of £2,839.20 Shift Pattern: 7:30-4 Mon – Thurs, 7:30-3 Friday - Includes a 1-in-4 weekly on-call rota Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent We are currently recruiting for a skilled Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join a high-performing Maintenance team at a top-tier COMAH site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician to play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable operations within a highly regulated industrial environment. About the Role As an EC&I Technician, you’ll be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient running of the site through proactive maintenance and effective fault-finding. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of preventative work, diagnostics, and project involvement. Your work will directly support site reliability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems including SCADA, DCS, and PLCs. Key Responsibilities * Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical and control systems. * Diagnose and repair faults across a variety of electrical equipment (415V, 240V, 110V). * Maintain and test SCADA, DCS, PLC, and hard-wired control systems. * Execute calibrations and proof testing on safety instrumented systems. * Support the isolation and immobilisation of plant equipment in accordance with LOTO procedures. * Accurately update records within the company CMMS. * Read technical drawings, maintenance manuals, and circuit diagrams. * Participate in onsite project work including installation and commissioning. * Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. * Participate in a 24/7 shift rota including on-call coverage every 4 weeks. What We’re Looking For * Level 3 electrical qualification or a completed full electrical apprenticeship. * BS7671 wiring regulations certification. * IPAF certificate (or willingness to obtain). * Strong knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations. * Familiarity with BS60079, BS EN 61508, or BS EN 61511 is a plus. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems. * A self-starter with a data-driven mindset and a passion for problem-solving
