Business Development Manager – Hemel Hempstead
Our client is a well-known brand within the building materials sector. This role focuses on new business development and cross-selling across an existing base while supporting a new depot. The business offers an online ordering system to simplify product selection and delivery to site.
The position offers a salary of £35,000 - £48,000 plus bonus, with a company car or car allowance.
Responsibilities
* Develop and grow new business within a defined territory extending from Hemel Hempstead across to the east and up to Milton Keynes; plan and target areas effectively.
* Analyze your area to identify who is buying what, where gaps exist, and map target customers to respond quickly to incoming enquiries.
* Cross-sell across the existing product range while pursuing new business opportunities in the building materials sector.
* Manage external sales activity, ensuring stock availability and on-site deliveries as required.
Qualifications
* External sales experience in the building materials sector.
* Experience covering a large patch and selling to contractors/trade and distribution channels.
* Commercial focus on achieving sustainable margin, not just volume.
* Proven longevity in roles and a hunter mentality.
