Position Title: Design Engineer / Tendering Engineer – Energy Infrastructure

Your New Role
As a Design / Tendering Engineer, you’ll report directly to the Operations Director and take the technical lead across both tendering and detailed design. You’ll be responsible for pulling together and delivering high-quality tender packages, overseeing deeper design phases, and managing commercial assessments from start to finish.
Your work will involve developing substation layouts, producing SLDs and schematics, leading primary design for transformers, switchgear and protection & control systems, and coordinating civil and interface works with DNOs. You’ll work closely with DNOs but have far greater control over the process, helping avoid project delays and ensuring designs are both technically and commercially sound.
Initially, you’ll operate independently, but as the business continues to grow, there will be the opportunity to build and lead your own team.
Your Background
You’ll bring a strong foundation in high-voltage design and tendering across 33kV–132kV projects, supported by an electrical engineering qualification or equivalent. You’ll understand the UK grid process and have hands-on experience in substation design, schematics, cost estimation, and commercial assessment.
