Robert Half is recruiting: Assistant Accountant
Location: Hitchin (Office-based - Full Time)
Hours: 39 per week
Robert Half is partnering with a well-established UK manufacturer specializing in high-quality architectural hardware to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to gain broad experience in a busy finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and cash reconciliations.
2. Handle customer and supplier queries and support credit control processes.
3. Assist with payroll processing, VAT returns, inventory management, and preparation of monthly management accounts.
4. Support year-end processes and audits as required.
5. Undertake general finance administration and provide customer-focused support as needed.
Candidate Profile:
6. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance or accounts role.
7. Strong knowledge of financial procedures, including bookkeeping, cash management, and credit control.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
9. Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time-management skills.
10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
11. AAT or part-qualified accounting experience is desirable but not essential.
