Customer Delivery Driver - Crediton Superstore
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable driver to deliver groceries and products to our customers’ homes. As the face of Tesco, you’ll be the first point of contact with customers and should always provide a positive, helpful experience.
Pay & Hours
• Rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour and increases to £14.56 an hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
• Minimum contract: 16 guaranteed hours per week (minimum 12 hours if you prefer fewer). Flexible scheduling allows you to work around your availability.
• Availability windows (example):
* Sun 18:00 – 22:00
* Mon 18:00 – 22:00
* Wed 08:00 – 18:00
* Fri 18:00 – 22:00
Responsibilities
* Ensure the van and trays I use are clean and tidy.
* Leave the back yard clean, tidy and free of rubbish, picking up litter as I see it.
* Wash trays as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van as required, checking the van for roadworthiness.
* Talk to the customer about any changes to their order, including short‑code items and substitutions, and offer a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
* Take care of products/deliveries as if they were my own.
* Explain to the customer that they will not be charged any further for their substitutions.
* Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
* Call the customer before arriving at their property if early.
* Call the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
Requirements
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to make sure our store is the best it can be for customers.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say “Thank you.”
* Act quickly to respond to the changing needs of our customers and embrace change within my store.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work to achieve a balance that is right for me.
* Share ideas with my Manager and other colleagues on how we can improve our store for customers.
* Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
