GDi is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Surveyor to join our team, based in our Aberdeen offices. Reporting to the Survey Manager, this role involves conducting surveys for Global Design Innovation Ltd and potentially other companies within GDi’s portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and development in this field.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
1. Perform a variety of surveys following relevant procedures.
2. Develop survey approaches, undertake RAMS, and compile/review survey methodologies.
3. Conduct pre-mobilisation checks on survey and scanning equipment as needed.
4. Respond to technical queries and create media for clients and GDi personnel within designated timelines.
5. Process captured data and prepare final deliverables.
6. Develop knowledge in Survey Scopes, including estimating man-hours and equipment needs.
7. Carry out laser scanning and dimensional control surveys on onshore/offshore assets.
8. Perform QA/QC analysis.
9. Model 3D data into 2D and 3D CAD drawings and reports.
10. Prepare and review drawings and 3D models.
11. Operate survey software, monitor data quality, and ensure compliance with survey specifications.
12. Achieve project targets within budget and schedule, managing work priorities.
13. Report on job progress and scope variations.
14. Assist in preparing pre-qualification responses, proposals, tenders, and work programs for clients.
15. Demonstrate substantial experience as a Land/Engineering Surveyor or in Dimensional Control, with proficiency in laser scanning.
16. Understand survey techniques, error propagation, datums, and environmental impacts on data collection.
17. Maintain calibration of survey systems and sensors.
18. Understand client requirements and scope of work, ensuring clarity of contract deliverables.
19. Build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
20. Develop skills in survey software and geomatics, including point cloud processing tools like Leica Cyclone, Faro Scene, LFM, and Recap.
21. Work well within a multidisciplinary team with good interpersonal skills.
22. Willing to travel within the UK and internationally, including offshore work in the North Sea.
Qualifications & Certifications:
* Work experience relevant to surveying roles.
* English and Maths at National 5 or equivalent (preferred).
* BSc in Surveying or related field (preferred).
* Required: BOSIET, MIST, offshore medical certification, and a full driving license.
