Installations Director – Air Conditioning

Company Overview
We are working exclusively with a leading and fast-growing AC contractor specialising in the design, installation, and maintenance of air conditioning systems for the commercial sector. Due to continued growth and project demand, we are seeking an experienced Installations Director to lead and develop the installations division and drive operational excellence across multiple sites.
Role Overview
The Installations Director will oversee the full delivery of air conditioning installation projects across the commercial portfolio – from planning and mobilisation through to execution and handover. This is a senior-level leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage teams, budgets, and client relationships at scale.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of commercial AC installation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget
*
Oversee project managers, site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors across multiple sites
*
Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with health & safety, F-Gas regulations, and industry standards
*
Develop and implement strategic plans for the growth and optimisation of the installations department
*
Work closely with the pre-construction and design teams to review technical specifications and project requirements
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
*
Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, procurement, and financial reporting
*
Identify training and development needs to upskill internal teams and promote a culture of continuous improvement
*
Attend high-level project meetings and report progress to board-level stakeholders
Key Requirements
*
Proven experience in a senior leadership role within commercial air conditioning or building services installations
*
Strong technical understanding of AC systems including VRF/VRV, split, ducted, and packaged systems
*
Experience managing large-scale commercial installation projects (retail, office, healthcare, education, etc.)
*
Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
*
Ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment
*
Knowledge of F-Gas, CDM Regulations, and health & safety best practices
*
Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Building Services
*
Full UK Driving Licence
