Purpose:
As a Consumer Research Technologist, you will work across our brands including Sharwoods, Mr Kipling, Batchelors, Oxo, and Ambrosia. You will join the Sensory and Product Analytics team to deliver sensory and consumer research, supported by data analytics, to enhance product quality and consumer satisfaction, ensuring market success and brand loyalty.
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead consumer research for Quick Meal Solutions and Flavours and Seasonings, focusing on Batchelors, Oxo, Bisto, and Paxo.
* Support sensory panel testing as needed.
* Collaborate with NPD, Marketing, and Insights teams to plan and execute consumer and employee research, including Central Location Testing and Home Use Testing.
* Manage relationships with research agencies, oversee project briefing, and ensure best practices, including fieldwork attendance.
* Lead multiple research projects covering innovation, quality improvement, monitoring, and cost recovery, managing all stages from planning to reporting.
* Ensure project management excellence, adhere to health and safety standards, and pursue personal training needs.
What we need from you:
* A passion for food, with a good understanding of sensory and consumer research.
* At least 12 months experience in sensory or consumer research, including placements.
* Knowledge of sensory science principles and evaluation methodologies.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
* Strong numeracy, data visualization, and storytelling skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Enthusiasm for learning.
* Desirable: BSc in Food Science/Technology/Marketing or related field.
* Desirable: Completion of a Professional Sensory Course.
* Desirable: Experience with XLstat, RedJade, or similar sensory software.
