Job overview

An exciting opportunity has risen to join Cancer Performance Team on a fixed term basis to support the delivery of the national cancer waiting time standards.

The post holder will work with the team in the tracking of patients who are referred in on a urgent suspected cancer pathway. The role will work with the cancer pathway co-ordinators in the capturing of the patients journey within the cancer information system (infoflex).

Areas of focus will be around the delivery of the 28 day faster diagnostic and the 62 day first treatment standards. The role will be an integral part of the daily escalation of pathology to ensure patients are reported in a timely manner.

The Performance Team is based at Eggleston Court.

We operate between the hours of 8-5pm Monday to Friday.

Staff within the team operate a flexible working pattern within the above opening hours.

Main duties of the job

You will be a member of the performance management team within the Trust supporting the day to day functions of corporate performance teams within South Tees NHS FT.

The post holder is responsible for providing support to the teams by:

1. Supporting with data input across the corporate performance management teams.
2. Supporting all aspects of data quality ensuring accuracy for Cancer Waiting Time targets. This will include supporting the pathway co-ordinators on a day by day basis.
3. Assisting with the monitoring and collection of data to support Cancer Waiting times.
4. General administrative support for the Performance Team.
5. Support in the development of SOPs and version management

6. GCSE in Maths and English (A-C/4-9) or Functional Skills (level 2)
7. NVQ3 level Secretarial or Business Administrative qualification, or equivalent level of demonstrable experience (using the knowledge and skills criteria above)

8. Previous work within NHS setting
9. Experience of working within a team
10. Experience of working to deadlines
11. Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records.
12. Experience of negotiating with and influencing other staff.
13. Experience of communicating at all levels across an organisation (either verbal or written)
14. Experience of transcribing and minute taking
15. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

16. Knowledge and understanding of the NHS
17. A good knowledge of Cancer Waiting Time and Access targets.
18. Good keyboard skills required for completing documents, data entry and manipulation from databases, and compiling resource/information documents using desktop publishing, knowledge of telephony systems and a good understanding in the use and maintenance of general office equipment.
19. Demonstrable experience in an administrative role.
20. Ability to transcribe and minute taking
21. Proven skill of communicating at all levels across an organisation
22. Previous experience of dealing with customers, patients and/or members of the public.
23. Ability to demonstrate integrity and discretion when working with confidential matters
