The Role

As a Senior Loss Adjuster, you’ll take responsibility for a portfolio of High Net Worth and specialist

claims, including:

1. High-value private residences
2. Fine art, jewellery and collections
3. Antiques and specialist risks
4. Complex, sensitive and high-profile losses

You will act as a trusted technical and client-facing expert, managing claims from first instruction through to final settlement, often involving multiple specialists, restorers and consultants. This is a hands-on, high-trust role where quality, judgement and client care matter more than volume.

Key Responsibilities

5. Managing high-value and complex HNW claims from instruction to conclusion
6. Carrying out site visits to investigate cause, scope and quantum of loss
7. Interpreting policy cover and advising insurers on liability and strategy
8. Coordinating and liaising with specialist contractors, restorers, surveyors and consultants
9. Ensuring properties and assets are protected from further damage
10. Validating claims and investigating any concerns or discrepancies
11. Negotiating fair and technically robust settlements
12. Handling sensitive client situations with professionalism, empathy and authority
13. Preparing clear, detailed and well-reasoned reports for insurers and stakeholders
14. Building strong relationships with insurers, brokers and private clients
15. Playing an active role in maintaining and enhancing Criterion’s reputation in the HNW market
16. Demonstrate and role model the Charles Taylor six Values by ensuring a Supportive Environment, upholding Excellence in People, focusing on Partnership with Clients, delivering High quality Work, promoting Group-wide Entrepreneurship and having an Appetite for Change.
17. Carry out ad hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

Required Skills

19. Proven experience handling High Net Worth property claims
20. ACILA qualified, working towards ACILA, or keen to pursue professional qualifications
21. Strong technical judgement and attention to detail
22. A calm, confident and credible client-facing manner
23. Highly organised, with excellent diary and workload management
24. Professional, empathetic and commercially aware communication style
25. Comfortable working on complex, high-value and sensitive losses
26. A team player who wants to be part of a specialist, quality-driven business
