Job overview The father peer support worker role is to work alongside qualified health visitors to ensure that fathers of unborn babies and children to 5 years old are supported to achieve their full potential. The post holder is required to inspire the fathers they work with and to encourage self belief that fathers have an important and unique role which contributes to their own care, especially mental health. The father support worker will work with fathers to build positive relationships with their unborn and young children to enable positive physical emotional and social development of their children’s development. If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role]. As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive. An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
