Speciality Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
A valuable opportunity is available for an experienced Speciality Doctor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join a supportive and well-established team. This is a permanent post, based at Glangwili General Hospital, in Carmarthen and travel to other sites for clinical duties is expected.

Main duties of the job
Supervision of all admissions to the Wards, Clinical investigation, diagnosis and treatment of all patients admitted to Obstetrics & Gynaecology Wards as well as assisting the Consultants in running the Outpatient Clinics.
The post holder will participate in regular audit meetings and postgraduate teaching sessions held by the appropriate Consultants.
You will be required to work in close cooperation and liaison with colleagues both within and outside of the organisation, as appropriate, in multi professional and multidisciplinary team environments.
Maintaining a high standard of note-keeping
Communication with other staff. Presentations at weekly and clinical case conferences, carrying out audits and involvement in teaching junior staff and other professionals.

Person Specification
Clinical Governance
* Participation in clinical audit (or quality improvement project) and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
* Knowledge of risk management
* Knowledge of annual job planning/appraisal review process
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
* Valid Certified Advanced Life Support
* Evidence of working towards membership of the Royal College
Experience
* Shall have completed at least four years\' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
* Able to demonstrate core competencies and clinical skills relevant to the post
* NHS Experience
* Able to demonstrate evidence of leading a team
Teaching
* Willingness to teach all grades of professional multidisciplinary staff
* Evidence of organising programmes and teaching medical students and resident doctors
Other
* Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner
* Flexible approach to the needs of the service
