An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and skilled Band 6 Specialist CAMHS Nurse based in Tonteg Hospital. This post is part of our Rapid Intervention Service for Eating Disorders in Cwm Taf Locality. The post will be 22.50 hours over two days weekly on a fixed term basis.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to work within our Specialist Eating Disorder Service. You will be expected to manage a caseload of young people with eating difficulties who may also have co-morbid mental health difficulties and you will have co-ordinated responsibility for patients. The role involves multi-disciplinary working and bespoke packages of care that are evidence informed. The post holder will carry out comprehensive assessments and interventions supported by the team within tier 2/3 CAMHS and hold their own caseload. Will be required to supervise HCSW and more junior staff where appropriate.
Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible, in collaboration with the team, for the mental health assessments and interventions of children and young people referred to our service. The ability to make balanced decisions and use a positive approach whilst managing potentially high pressure situations is an essential part of this role. The post involves interagency liaison with all local authority and third sector services, including Child and Family Social Services, Education Department and other agencies, as required. This post will primarily be based within Tonteg but our service covers all areas of Cwm Taf Morgannwg and also operates from satellite base clinics in other areas across the Health board such as Bridgend Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend; Mental Health Matters Union Offices in Bridgend; Dewi Sant Hospital in Pontypridd and Carnegie Clinic in the Rhondda. You may also be required to work with young people and their families within their own community/home setting. The ability to drive and travel independently between clinics is essential.
