Head of Enterprise Technology Service & Operations
Location: Hybrid (North East)
Salary: £140k + Car allowance + Bonus
We're supporting a well-established, customer-focused organisation undertaking a significant technology evolution, with a clear focus on service stability, modernisation, and long-term scalability.
This is a senior leadership role, accountable for the end-to-end delivery of enterprise technology services across infrastructure, platforms, and operations. You'll play a key role in shaping how technology supports the business - ensuring resilience, performance, and continuous improvement across a complex estate.
You'll operate as part of the senior technology leadership team, working closely with peers across architecture, security, and change to deliver a cohesive, high-performing technology function.
Responsibilities
* Own the delivery of enterprise technology services across infrastructure, platforms, and service operations
* Lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams across service management, infrastructure, and operational delivery
* Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience across a 24/7 environment
* Define and implement service strategies, operating models, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Manage and optimise third-party suppliers and outsourced service providers
* Drive service maturity across ITSM disciplines (incident, problem, change, service transition)
* Partner with architecture and engineering teams to support platform evolution and modernisation
* Oversee risk, resilience, and compliance across the technology estate
* Manage budgets, cost optimisation, and service efficiency initiatives
* Engage with senior stakeholders across the business to align technology services with organisational priorities
Experience / What you bring
* Proven leadership experience in enterprise technology services, infrastructure, or operations roles
* Track record of owning and delivering technology services across complex, multi-supplier environments
* Strong background in infrastructure, platforms, and service management within large-scale organisations
* Experience operating in regulated environments (e.g. financial services, utilities, or similar)
* Demonstrable success in driving service improvement, stability, and cost optimisation
* Strong understanding of ITIL and service management best practices
* Experience leading organisational or technology transformation initiatives
* Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and supplier relationships
* Ability to operate at senior leadership level, influencing across both technology and business stakeholders
