In this role, you will be accountable for the development and delivery of plans to transform performance with respect to Thames Water's Environmental obligations, including pollution and flooding. Success will be measured through improvements in Customer Service and River Health.
What you’ll be doing as a Head of Operational Performance (Environment)
You will work with colleagues across Thames Water to develop strategies and plans that will help us to turnaround environmental performance. This will include:
1. Utilising data and insight to understand the root cause of operational incidents and formulate plans including interventions to prevent incidents or mitigate their impact through effective response.
2. Research industry best practices and approaches in similar industries to stimulate innovation and improve our effectiveness and efficiency.
3. Collaborate with Customers, Regulators, and Consumer Groups to communicate plans, gather feedback, and build confidence.
4. Ensure consistent tracking and reporting of key environmental metrics.
5. Contribute to Strategic Planning, including business plans and investment cases to support environmental goals.
This is a hybrid role with a negotiable base location. It requires travel across the Thames Water Region, with 2-3 days per week at Thames Water sites to engage with teams and stakeholders.
What you should bring to the role
1. Experience in Senior Operational Leadership, with the ability to engage and influence across organizational boundaries.
2. Experience in leading organizational change and continuous improvement, including project management.
3. Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and relationship development.
4. Commercial acumen in managing capital and operational finances.
5. This role does not require an Environmental background or experience in Environmental Management.
