Your Role
As a Preventative Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maximizing the operational availability of our equipment. You’ll work closely with the controller to ensure timely and efficient routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs. Your commitment to safety will shine through as you service our products, ensuring a safe environment for both yourself and our customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Preventative Maintenance Servicing: Conduct routine servicing of equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines, including taking routine oil samples (75% of your time).
* Machine Inspection: Perform visual and mechanical analyses of machine conditions, identifying potential issues with systems and components (20% of your time).
* Minor Repairs: Complete minor repairs identified during inspections, install telematic systems, and conduct undercarriage inspections (5% of your time).
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A basic knowledge of the four main product elements: Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics.
* Direct experience (around 3 years) in a related engineering function, such as car mechanic, HGV fitter, or Agricultural Engineer.
* A formal apprenticeship qualification that includes at least C&G level 1.
* Health & Safety training is desirable but not essential, as we provide further training.
Working Conditions
This is a field-based role with a working pattern of Monday to Friday, including 1 Saturday in 3 at an overtime rate. You’ll work 43 hours per week with flexible start and finish times. A full driving license held for at least 2 years is essential for this position.
