We’re based near Southampton, and we’re looking for a talented Creative Video Editor to join our team! Role Overview: As our Creative Video Editor at Pulse8, you’ll be at the heart of bringing creative visions to life. From editing and assembling content to crafting engaging social media clips, you’ll shape stories and produce videos that captivate and inspire. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, adapting to their feedback and ensuring the content aligns with brand goals. Whether it's editing YouTube videos, creating Instagram Reels, or contributing to internal content, you’ll help tell our story and enhance our brand’s connection with its audience. This role is built around a focused weekly workload that supports both creativity and work-life balance. There are no fixed hours—just clear expectations and a high standard of delivery. We expect this role to be a 3 to 4 day week and we're happy to have a conversation about what this would like for the right candidate. If you're efficient, you’ll naturally work less. Outside of scheduled studio shoots and team meetings, you’re free to manage your own time. We trust you to deliver great work—when and how you do it is up to you. In addition to editing, you will also have the opportunity to assist with occasional filming at client locations. We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the business and take on new responsibilities as Pulse8 continues to expand. Key Responsibilities: • Edit and assemble footage into polished, distribution-ready projects. • Create short-form content (e.g., reels, Shorts) and long-form content (e.g., YouTube videos, interviews). • Design sleek video edits using music, dialogue, graphics, and sound effects. • Create attention-grabbing thumbnails. • Collaborate with the director to ensure content aligns with brand vision and goals. • Organise and manage digital video assets. • Ensure all edits meet brand guidelines and deadlines. • Support on filming setups in the studio. • Help with monitoring internal video creation for YouTube and social media. • Assist with occasional filming at client locations. Skills & Experience Required: Essential : • 1 years of professional video editing experience. • Proficiency in Final Cut Pro X. • Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (Canva or alternatives). • Expertise in using stock footage, music, and sound effects. • Knowledge of colour grading and video editing trends. • YouTube SEO, uploading, and thumbnail creation. • Ability to tell compelling stories through video editing. • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. Desirable: • Experience with motion graphics and animation, sound design. • Experience shooting video (Sony camera operation, audio & lighting). • Customer/client interaction experience. Salary & Benefits: • Flexible work hours, 3 or 4 days a week – manage your own time and work based on priorities and workload. • £22,000 to £27,000 depending on experience, plus performance bonuses. • 20 days holiday, with your birthday off and 2 wellness days per year.
