Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Consultant to work in Haematology and join the team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. The post will be based at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, with expectations to work across both hospital sites. The post holder will undertake inpatient and outpatient work and is encouraged to develop a sub-specialty interest. Applications are encouraged from experienced consultants and from newly accredited consultants who will be supported through development programmes.
The department includes 2 dedicated ACPs for Haematology providing follow up clinics, telephone advice lines, and support for junior doctors and nursing staff. A Haematology specialist nurse supports cancer patients through their pathway. There is an Oncology/Haematology ward at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and an assessment area for ward attenders. Two dedicated day case facilities exist (Greenlea unit at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and the Macmillan Unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital) with a dedicated Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist and a well-established Chemotherapy Team.

Responsibilities
* Undertake inpatient and outpatient Haematology work and contribute to service development.
* Be encouraged to develop a personal sub-specialty interest.
* Work across the two hospital sites (Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital).
* Collaborate with the wider team, including ACPs, specialist nurses, and the chemotherapy team, to support patient pathways.
* Engage with the department’s Day Case facilities and ward areas to support patient care.
