Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer focused on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's global operations.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on various legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues, supporting day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal matters.
* Assist in managing compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and network policies across jurisdictions.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal expertise.
* Develop and implement governance, policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and legal/regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Provide practical, risk-aware legal advice aligned with business objectives.
* Present on legal topics and author articles as needed.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Expert legal skills with the ability to lead complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strong risk management and strategic thinking skills.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing commercial agreements across jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently on complex matters and collaborate with teams.
* Balance the needs of a fast-growing global business with legal and compliance risks.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work with diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
