About the Role / Role Overview As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering differentiated teaching and learning to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex learning needs. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support pupils’ holistic development and ensure they achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Deliver creative, inclusive and personalised lessons aligned with individual EHCPs and learning goals. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners. Create and maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment. Track and assess pupil progress, using this to inform future planning and intervention strategies. Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs to deliver coordinated care and education. Establish strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers, promoting trust and clear communication. Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times. Job Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential. Proven experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a specialist or inclusive setting. A comprehensive understanding of a range of SEN including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, or complex learning difficulties. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to respond calmly to challenging situations. A nurturing, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching. Excellent communication and collaborative working skills. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
