Job Overview
The Information Governance Manager will play a key role in the Trust's developing Information Governance and Information Security team within the Digital Services department. The role is the subject‑matter expert on all aspects of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and will provide assurance to the CISO that the Information Governance agenda is understood in detail, with continuous updates as policy and guidance change.
Responsibilities
* Provide assurance to the CISO that the DSPT framework is fit for purpose and supports the Trust to achieve standards met in its annual submission
* Act as manager responsible for ensuring the Trust meets legislative requirements under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
* Develop a positive culture towards all things Information Governance, ensuring a range of training and awareness activities are developed and delivered to staff of all levels within the Trust
* Develop, manage and maintain a Publication Schedule that maps to relevant legislation, organisational policy and security controls

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent education and experience
* Evidence of CPD
Experience
* Experience in Information Governance and application of relevant legislation in healthcare
* Significant experience of DSPT and other compliance standards
Knowledge
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in a complex, multi‑disciplinary environment, both orally and in writing
* Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Data Protection Act 2018/UK GDPR
* Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines, often under pressure, with tools and resources available and the ability to carry out detailed work accurately
Skills
* Experience of planning and delivering training around Information Governance in the public sector
* Experience of developing Information Governance and related policies
* Experience of developing, managing and maintaining a Publication Schedule
