We are seeking a conscientious and adaptable individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join the Pharmacy team at the Grange University Hospital (GUH) as a Pharmacy Assistant.
The post primarily involves working in the Distribution section, ensuring medications are sent promptly and organized to wards and departments. Good awareness of stock control, high computer literacy, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a good standard of general education are expected.
Our department is forward-thinking and innovative, with strong multidisciplinary links. We deliver clinical services across various specialties and are committed to professional development. The pharmacy uses automated systems and offers comprehensive medicines management, including electronic discharge.
The successful applicant will assist in pharmaceutical stock control by:
* Supporting the Logistics Service, reviewing and creating orders, and resolving supply issues.
* Receiving orders from procurement and suppliers.
* Checking orders against paperwork.
* Passing delivery notes to the clerical office for matching.
* Storing stock correctly and ensuring timely stock rotation to reduce waste.
* Quarantining stock for quality testing.
* Conducting stock checks, including expiry date verification.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; applications from English and Welsh speakers are equally welcome.
