Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of our residential care facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for supporting the elderly in their own home. This role requires effective communication, the ability to implement care plans, and a commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing environment for all residents. You will be working on a 3 on 3 off basis.
Duties
* Lead and manage a team of 6 residential staff, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
* Ensuring 3-monthly supervisions/training are completed on time.
* Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each resident.
* Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
* Monitor the wellbeing of residents, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
* Facilitate communication between staff, residents, and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of care.
* Organise activities that promote social skills, personal development, and emotional wellbeing among residents.
* Maintain accurate records related to each residents and any incidents that occur within the facility.
* Ensuring the residents care plans and daily care notes are completed.
* Daily medicines administration.
* Attending management meetings.
* Assisting the deputy manager in co-ordinating hospital appointments
* Feeding into the RI 6-monthly Quality Assurance report.
Skills
* Strong leadership abilities with a drive to motivate and inspire others.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Experience in residential and dementia or working with vulnerable adults in a residential setting is essential.
* Knowledge of developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
* IT proficiency for maintaining records and facilitating communication within the team.
* A compassionate approach with the ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
* Overall responsibility for COSHH, auditing and staff training.
* Overall responsible for ordering continence products, including liaising with healthboard to ensure timely delivery.
