Role Overview
We are a global leader in the marine navigation systems industry, providing integrated technical solutions for the commercial sector.
We develop and maintain a wide product portfolio, and currently face exponential growth underpinned by an ambitious development roadmap. We’re looking to recruit a Workshop Assembly Technician, on a part-time basis, at our head office in New Malden to support the planning and practical implementation of production requirements.
Responsibilities include:
1. Start to Finish Shop-Orders (Picking/Unpack/Assemble/Inspect/Pack)
2. Read Engineering Drawing, Assembly Drawing and Circuit Diagrams.
3. Assemble one-off or low volume (small and large) units.
4. PCB Assembly, Wiring, Mechanical Assembly.
5. Inform QA/Engineering of Electrical and Mechanical faults.
6. Operate a Computer to Print Unit labels, use MRP system (IFS), Log and Maintain, build states/Excel/SharePoint Database.
7. Assist FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) with Customers Inspection.
8. Repair and Refurbish customer property, i.e. Radar Turning, Transceiver, Auxiliary units. Etc. Use basic surveying instrument i.e. Theodolite, Autocollimator, Power Meter, and Oscilloscope etc.
9. Maintaining data records of all systems and providing information to Management as required.
10. To maintain accurate records as required within ISO and document any rejects, defects and queries to QA and Management.
Skills & Experience
11. Soldering
12. Wiring and prototype wiring
13. Mechanical and General assembly, prototype assembly
14. Computer skills – Basic
15. Unit fault finding
16. Fault finding on component level
17. Testing units to their test specifications
18. Test sub-assembly to their test specifications
19. Read Mechanical technical-diagrams
20. Experience in radar systems (desirable)
