Wood is currently recruiting for FEED and EPC focused Senior Process Engineers to join our Oil, Gas and New Energies Team on a hybrid working basis into the Reading office.

This is an exciting time to join Wood and the Projects Team as we lead the way in Energy Transition. We specialise across sectors including energy transition (hydrogen and carbon capture storage, circular economy and emerging technologies), oil and gas, downstream and chemical projects.
The Role
You will be responsible for development of process designs and driving resolution of complex technical issues. You will interface with a multi-disciplinary team of highly capable Engineers and SMEs to deliver best in class solutions that will ensure high customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Deliver process designs in FEED and EPC projects, identify issues and propose solutions
* Undertake process design work and check work on the project as appropriate
* Work closely with customers to understand their needs and produce designs and services to meet these needs
* Complete technical design work to a high standard using Wood's and Customer design methods, standards and data
* Execute process engineering activities achieving budget, schedule and maintaining technical integrity of the designs
* Develop the basis of design, undertake detailed calculations to develop the design and be responsible for accuracy
* Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used conform with Client's requirements and / or those issued byWood
* Prepare Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment specifications, Process Descriptions and P&IDs for review and approval
* Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed
* Perform safety related calculations and provide input to Hazops, SIL and other safety reviews as directed
* Contribute where necessary to review of supplier quotations and reviews of the project 3D CAD model
* Ensure that requirements of Licensor's Secrecy Agreements are known and complied within the work performed
* Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers
* Assist as required in the preparation of Operating Manuals

QUALIFICATIONS
* Chemical Engineering Degree
* Chartered Chemical Engineer status (desirable)
* Experience of working on FEED and EPC projects for energy transition and onshore oil & gas projects
* Proven core Process Engineering skills, including up-to-date design experience
* Skilled in resolution of technical process design issues
* Readily adaptable with excellent verbal and written communication skills and good organisational awareness
* Ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and corporate objectives
* Display analytical and innovation skills to support management of new technology
