Job summary: The post holder will work autonomously as part of the immediate multidisciplinary team (MDT) and larger teams, providing advice, instigating investigations and implementing patient care throughout the breast patient pathway. The focus of the role is on the introduction of the NICE TAG support for Ribociclib and improving patient experience, reducing lengths of stay and avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions. The role supports the band 8a and lead consultant in service planning and development.
Job responsibilities
* Conduct holistic assessment of breast patients.
* Provide advice, guide investigations and implement patient care.
* Lead the implementation of Ribociclib therapy for the first 12 months.
* Ensure effective communication to improve patient experience, reduce lengths of stay and avoid unnecessary admissions.
* Support the band 8a consultant and lead consultant in service planning and development.
* Work autonomously and within the MDT, prioritising and managing caseload and time effectively.
* Provide supportive care to improve the cancer experience and quality of life for patients.
Person Specification
* Registered nurse with experience in oncology/haematology, preferably breast care.
* Knowledge of NICE guidelines and experience with Ribociclib therapy.
* Strong communication and team working skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and manage workload.
* Commitment to patient‑centred care and continuous professional development.

Contract details
Band 7 – £47,810 to £54,710 a year pro‑rata. Fixed‑term 12‑month contract, full‑time (37.5 hrs).
