Your Mission:
As a Principal Product Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our products. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
* Providing expert advice on product safety to project and engineering managers, ensuring compliance with DEF STAN 0055/0056.
* Collaborating with third parties to review and gather essential safety case evidence.
* Developing robust safety arguments using various analysis methods (FHA/STPA/FMEA/FTA) and maintaining safety case documentation.
* Leading and mentoring other safety practitioners.
* Applying ALARP principles to enhance safety measures.
Your Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Proficient in safety engineering processes, practices, and tools.
* Strong understanding of safety engineering and assurance principles.
* Qualified engineers from other disciplines with a passion for safety engineering are encouraged to apply!
Desirable:
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and engage stakeholders effectively.

About the Combat Systems Safety Team:
Join a dynamic team of engineers and technical specialists working on both In-Service and In-Build Combat Systems. You’ll have the chance to develop safety arguments while exploring new technologies and sensor systems. We welcome candidates with military, defense, and maritime experience to help us deliver top-notch products for submarines. Relocation support packages are available for eligible roles.
